Available Content Templates and How to Use Them

There are many Content Templates available, and the number will grow as new needs are identified and additional templates are created. Use the menu in the sidebar to see a description of each Content Template and tips on using it.

Tips on Adding Content Templates

For basic instruction on adding and editing pages, refer to the Page Editing link in the submenu at the left. Below are some tips to keep in mind as you add and configure Content Templates to the pages.

Basic vs Advanced view of template list: Note that not all the Content Templates that you can choose from are displayed using the blue buttons immediately displayed when you add an Open Content module to a layout pane. The most common ones are there, but if you don't see the one you want, click "Advanced" and choose it from the full drop-down list.
Set or confirm Template Settings before clicking Edit: Most of the templates you add to a layout pane will include Template Settings. You must review those settings before moving on to editing the content, even if you don't need to change them. Otherwise some templates won't display.
Module Titles: All the templates have a field labeled "Module Title", which default to "Open Content". It's tempting to leave that as is to save time. However, in the future, if you need to copy an existing module to another page, you won't be able to tell them apart from each other when seen in a list of module titles. Take a couple seconds and give it a brief name that makes sense.
